Socha Says: Soul Contracts

This video-post has been about four months in the making. We had some technical difficulties with the audio track, but with Dana Nöllsch’s persistence, we now have Socha’s thoughts on soul contracts. All in divine timing, right? With our current trend on talking about relationships, this post fits perfectly here. I have so much gratitude, by the way, to all those who reached out with private messages about your insights and revelations related to the last couple of posts and for sharing them with your friends. I feel the love!

In this video, Socha encourages us to take the eagle-view of our lives, including the perspective that we’ve enjoyed many lives and agreed to make certain contracts on behalf of our soul-growth – for specific people to come into our lives, for the cultures we experience, our appearance, ethnicity, archetypal expressions, sense of destiny, and more.

Here are a few quotes from Socha to ponder:

You have this affinity for certain people who come into your life and you feel an immediate kinship. These people are part of your soul family who offer to support you in some ways. Those who love you the most offer you the toughest lessons. ~ Socha

Spiritual Partnership: New Paradigm Love & Community

Our relationship to relationship evolves – just as we evolve, just as everything else in our world seems to be transforming right before our eyes. So many of us are consciously designing new ways of authentic BEing in life and in relation to the others in our lives, not just in romantic and intimate relationships, but friendships, business collaborations, family and chosen family, and community.

We’re confused and frustrated, our relationships seem to be in chaos, and we don’t have the old traditions to lean on or anything new to take their place. Yet, we can’t go back, we must move forward into the unknown to create new kinds of relationship. In order to do this, it’s important to understand that our external relationships reflect our internal relationships with ourselves. Dance of Desire in Relating

While we breathe, live, and love, we also dream and desire. It’s the creative impulse born through us. We are one with the dance of the divine that stimulates change, growth and our alignment with our destinies. I’m sharing this post because I have had to be re-minded of the wisdom of this journey, especially when desire creates uncomfortable change. I share because I hope that some of these personal truths may also have meaning for you if and when the dance of desire brings change to your love, life and world.

I have danced all out in the land of shadows and projections, as we all have as part of the human condition. I know that surrender, non-attachment and deep-allowing in relationship can be a challenge for me, especially when my own filters, shadows and stories come to run interference, and when I feel the need to protect my ego and my perceived needs for survival, love, and more. It helps for me to remember one of my favorite inquiries of all time:

What would Love have me do?

As I mentioned in my last post, I know I’m not the only one going deeply into discovery in relationship. It’s part of our evolution to have experiences, challenges, and joys that help us to refine our preferences and ways of being in relationship, while allowing ourselves to more deeply align with love energies in each moment, especially the moments that hurt. As relationships change, we may be rocked to our core, wondering at our worthiness, rightness or righteousness.

I see so often in myself, friends, family, clients and more the impulse to make someone wrong in order to justify leaving a relationship or to allow that relationship to change form in significant ways. Most often, we will make the other person wrong. However, if we happen to be with someone we love, value and honor, often we will turn the wrongness inward, making ourselves wrong. If our partner(s) have dreams or desires that take them away from our aligned path, we may wonder what we did wrong and cause ourselves great suffering. In the paradigm of wrongness, there’s an impulse to fix. However, there’s pain and little room for true love’s expressions in the dance of wrongness and fixing. Continue reading →

Letting Venus Be Our Muse for Conscious, Creative, Authentic Relating

As crafty Venus plays hide-and-seek in the underworld, we may ponder what that means for we little humans shimmering in our own way from way below her. Kaypacha shares in his January 7 Pele Report:

We’re all diving down into the underworld of our unfelt feelings these next couple weeks. Let it up and let it out and don’t make it too real. This period can best be described as “weird” so don’t get too “weirded out”! I suggest it is all about “enlarging your space”….. we all need to give ourselves a bit more room to move, feel, react, and release….. take some time to yourself, for yourself and let others have their space, too…. Self knowledge sometimes costs but is well worth the price in the end. ~ Kaypacha

In just about all of my client sessions this past week or more, clients have been working through BIG relationship themes, not just in romantic relationships, but in professional, familial, friendships and more. As uncomfortable as this journey to the underworld may be for some of us, with all the feelings and questioning, this is an incredible opportunity to ponder what security means to us, how we relate to an ever-changing world rich in scarcity-consciousness, and how we create our own sense of security. This is also a time of deepest exploration around our authenticity and how we choose to live by our values, especially as we show up in relationships. This is a time for faith too, that we will come into an even greater space, even if it feels like there’s loss here now.

Put yourself out there in all your truth – that’s one way of finding out who your friends are. ~ Kaypacha

As many of you know, I have not always picked the easy path for relationships. I truly value conscious, creative, authentic relating, even if the path takes me beyond the social conditioning of days-of-old. I often have to create the treasure map while I’m busy driving. I know that even I am having my comfort-zone rocked and my value system challenged, and I am willing to go more deeply into myself to ensure that I am living my Truth, rather than succumbing to my fears. I also feel the great beauty and magic, the blossoming potential that’s here now, as I remain present, surrender to what is, allow my feelings to flow, and embrace healing and transformation at the deepest levels of my being. Never before have my dreams been more vibrant and demanding. Never before has my guidance been so specific, nurturing and comforting. Never before have I felt more supported by those who truly “get me.” Even the tender, fragile love that invokes that deepest sense of vulnerability… even the loves of hello… even the loves of transformation… they all enrich my soul and spirit in the deepest of ways, and I yearn for even more of this tenderness and beauty, this utter transparency, this powerful desire… Continue reading →

Today we have a guest blog post from Deirdre Danahar of InMotion Consulting & Coaching. I met Deirdre many years ago when we worked for sister regional centers under federal contract. She worked in the Southern region, and me in the West. Yet there were times when we would get to see each other, especially at national events. As one of life’s amazing synchronicities, Deirdre began transitioning into her coaching career at the same time that I did, as we both found out at a chance meeting at some conference, in some city, in some state… who knows where we were! But we were both so excited! Not long after that, we began to work with a common coach doing small group sessions to support us all in creating our coaching business while refining our coaching skills. During those days, I had many opportunities to experience Deirdre’s coaching, and I have to say that I love love love her style! Deirdre blogs very regularly, and I always enjoy what she shares. 6 Traits of Amazing Mentors (and why you need one)

This year I joined a mastermind group and am fortunate to have found an amazing one. We serve as a lovingly honest advisory board for one and other. This group of folks cares more about being kind (willing to point out “the good”, “the bad” and the “what the heck?”) than being nice (for the sake of avoiding creative conflict and therefore growth).

Being in the group is like standing in the middle of a circle of mentors; at times a little intense and uncomfortable but worth the scrutiny. We challenge each other to. . .

Ferret out the very best ideas out of all the ones we dream up.

To see failures as a temporary, if a wee painful, experience from which we can still extract something useful (won’t do that again, but will do this).

To give credit where it’s due.

To walk in time to our own drums and welcome others to join the journey through our businesses.

And to sometimes to just keep moving forward.

I ask you, who could not use a person (or group of people) like that in life?

Cosmic Mission

I am new to Matt Kahn of True Divine Nature, but I feel compelled to share the video below with you. I found it through Tania Marie’s blog, and her thoughts about it guided me to give it a few minutes listen. I knew I wanted to create a bigger space to digest it, so I listened slowly over the weekend, and then again in its entirety, bringing the thoughts deeply into my awareness. There’s so much to take away, and perhaps with yet another listen, my thoughts will go to a completely different place. But here’s what I want to share with you now that deeply resonates with me, that feels powerfully familiar, and that I desire to practice with more consciousness.

Kahn talks about the important role of staying in our own energy fields, even though we have a strong desire to merge with others. We know we’re in our own field when we feel calm and relaxed. When we are not feeling this way, we may come more deeply into our field by following and deepening our breath. This will ultimately help us to raise our vibration and to shine our light as brightly as possible without “trying” to help others or without waiting for others to catch up (in essence, dumbing ourselves down energetically to make others more comfortable around us). Spirit of Giving

Someone contacted me recently to share a most amazing acknowledgement. Something I did about thirty-plus years ago changed the course of this person’s life. This isn’t a veiled attempt to tell you how wonderful I am. What I did was not such a big deal, and believe me, back then I couldn’t muster much more than a shred of consciousness (or at least that’s my story from this perspective now). I was just following my bliss in a particularly incoherent fashion, typical me at about eighteen. Truth be told, I was playing match-maker as an incurable romantic without the satisfaction or distraction of any romantic love in my life at the time.

During the conversation, this person told me of how someone from the distant past contacted her with an acknowledgement, sharing how amazing that felt for her. So I began to think of the “paying it forward” feel of the chain of acknowledgements. Then I began to think of all the people who have blessed my life in ways small and large, of all the wonderful surprises that have come to me here and there, and of all the fond memories I have of the many angels-in-earthsuits that have graced my life. And I began to send them all blessings… oceans of blessings… each of them, one by one.

Just because.

And my blessings flow to you too. I feel so much gratitude that my life includes you, in whatever way our journeys have blended. You have made a positive difference in many a life, and you make a positive difference in my life, just by BEing here on this beautiful planet, by BEing beautiful you. Thank you.

All Wisdom is Worthy

Last Saturday, Laura Plato and I shared our ceremony, “Walking the Shamanic Reiki Way: A Wise Woman Ceremony.” What a delight-filled day full of goddess empowerment, joy, love, fun, peace, expansion, faith, harmony, ease and so much more! We had so many takeaways that I wish to share, but first I will offer just a wee bit of my process leading up to our big event.

Imagine… feeling the deepest stirrings of change and transformation deep in the bones, a sense of all that’s comfortable and safe being stripped away, along with a sense of slipping-foundation where I thought I may build…. where all confidence and self-esteem seem to fly away… where all that I’ve lovingly created over many years feels as if it’s mutating beyond recognition with each breath. Well, that’s a pretty dramatic description, but there you have a sense of the last several weeks for me!

What I found in that journey – well beyond doubting my right to be a wise woman – is the core of me, my essence, the one who is willing to be daring, take risks, BE even more authentic in each moment. I found my willingness to be seen, to be relevant. I thought I had all that. I truly did. And then I found another layer of BEing. Then yet another. All that felt lost to me returned many times over, and then again… so amazingly profound! Continue reading →

Cave of Creativity

We are conditioned to believe that life is a number line. We are either fixated on the past, or we are stationary/stuck/stagnant, or we are moving forward. Forward motion is valued, and occasionally presence is too, in service to creating a better future mostly. What if instead, we saw ourselves as an infinite point of light dancing in a sea of spheres – each brilliant, bright, and brimming with amazing diversity? When I dance into this perspective, in this moment, I feel the presence of so many bright possibilities in my shimmering field called this-precious-life. I don’t know that there’s a “right” perspective, but I suddenly feel expansive while just BEing here now in these delightful spheres.

Last week I wrote about the void. I love Tania Marie and her work, as you know, and she’s also been blogging about the void. You know how I love synchronicity! You may enjoy this blog post.

Here is a beautifully articulated excerpt:

I love that beautiful and potent void seed right now that is taking place for many, as we align to the matching frequencies of our current experience. In the process, you may find much loosening up and falling away in terms of relationships, friends, situations, work, where you live, etc. None of this is wrong, bad, or to be judged. It’s just a natural process of aligning with resonating frequencies, as each of us takes a new step on our paths. At every turn there will be tough choices, but they will also be the most enriching. You can’t please everyone, nor are you meant to.
