Hollow Bones

Much of my life-work happens in workshops and private sessions. At times it’s challenging to eek out time for a blog post, even though I journal and write in some form each and every day. After my last ezine and blog posts, a beloved friend asked me about my incentive and intention for channeling wisdom and for sharing through my blog.

The first response that came through for me is, “I don’t know and I can’t help it.” There’s something of the ring-of-destiny in there, though I know I am making it all up and creating it as I go. I am at choice, always.

The Truth though is that it brings me joy to create and to share. That’s all and that’s enough. And every now and then, something lands on someone else in a transformative way, and they show up and share that story with me, and it reaffirms that I am the hollow bone, here to channel, here to serve. That’s all I BE. In this season anyway…

State of Grace

My heart has been expanding lately (and painfully) around what we might consider problems, cruelty, and even atrocities. Sometimes we just seem to find too many ways to beat ourselves and others up. But in cases of animal-cruelty, child-abuse, hit-and-runs, and whatever else we may struggle to be with, what then? Where’s the love? How do we show up as love? How do we love ourselves for our struggle to love?

To be anything other than love for anyone else is ultimately an act of cruelty upon ourselves – of hiding, shaming, and destroying a part of us that’s linked in forever-unity to the whole of creation.

Dr. Usui, the “founder” of Reiki, offered us these Reiki Ideals to help us to navigate life:

Just for today, do not anger.

Do not worry and be filled with gratitude.

Devote yourself to your work and be kind to people.

Sometimes it helps me to realize that I don’t know what another person has been through, their challenges, struggles, and even their “personal hell.” I know that in no way can I possibly understand the divine plan.

All I know is that I love every little inch of every one of you. When I forget, I turn around and love myself for forgetting.

All is well and all will be well.

Serving Love & Truth

We are all expressions of the Divine, in all the ways we show up. Who are we to judge?

It’s cliché, but I unapologetically say it anyway.

Your life matters. If you had a Scrooge moment here-and-now with those ghosts of past-present-future, you would witness remarkable ways that you’ve altered others’ world views and life experiences for the better. You would see the Magic of your soul expressed in ways you’ve never imagined.

There are times, too, when you’ve played the fool, heart-breaker, sacred clown, noble friend, or sacred cow. Even then, you played a divine role in the path of the others, helping them to see the aspects within themselves that needed healing and integration.

At times, Love put on shoes and walked out the door. You wondered if you would ever feel worthy again. You are. You always will be.

In all roles, in all ways, you are an expression of the Divine. You ARE Divine.

When I think of you, of me, and of the divine comedy, well my heart just opens right up, my love expands, my joy magnifies, my sad-and-happy tears blend and flow. I embrace our Unity with our Divinity.

We serve Love and Truth, always and in all ways. How blessed we BE.

Between my ego-self and my enlightened-self, there dwells my guiding-self or my evolutionary-self. I call her “Love,” and she BE my guide in all ways, always.

In my blog post, “New Moon and Solstice Blessings,” I wrote about the power of sharing ceremony and intentions in community. There’s been so much ceremony in my life of late, and I just have to share how powerful it is to live this way, especially in harmony with the seasons and moon cycles. What follows is a meandering journey of several ceremonies of late and what I have learned. I hope that some of this will help you find a deeper knowing within yourself, if that is what you wish too. Some of what I share may be a bit “out there,” but in this ever-shifting world, we are all stretching in what we know as Truth or else maybe we’re asleep.

Utility of Ceremony

In a practical sense, ceremony helps us to become more present and conscious, and to embrace living life on deeper levels. In our shamanic tradition, ceremony also helps us to step out of the space/time continuum, where spontaneous healing and transformation is always a possibility. It also helps us to transcend the mental/emotional processing that can keep us stuck for years in monkey-mind feedback loops. In ceremony, we enter the mythic realm, where we embrace our symbolic lives, as hero-journeys. Here we are supported in aligning with our divine destiny. We may purposefully release our reliance on some archetypal patterns, such as victim or saboteur, in order to embrace those more in keeping with our potential, such as artist, alchemist, teacher, healer, leader, lover, and more. Dana and Denise love to celebrate you and all you’ve cleared and created through these remarkable times of transition and transformation! We welcome you, your friends and family to join us for a celebration of sageness and life on Saturday, August 2 from two o-clock-ish until whenever we feel complete. This is a casual potluck, bring-your-own-beverage party that will likely involve some version of sagebrush croquet (aka “cruel crochet”), live music and dancing. Other notes:

  • We have plenty of space for RVs and tent camping if you’d like to stay over. Let us know in advance if you’re bringing an RV and you are welcome to come as early as noon to set up.
  • We will have a BBQ and one extra sun oven available. Aside from a dish and beverage, you may want to bring a lawn chair, hat, and boots for hiking.
  • If you plan to bring dog(s), let us know so we can plan for proper introductions with ours.
  • Please be careful of our tender sage brushes when parking. We actually love them. A lot.
  • Best of all: It looks like we will have live blues too! Rick Hammond’s Blues Band will be playing sometime in the late afternoon/early evening. They accept tips, and it’s okay to show your love.
  • RSVP and we will send you directions to find us.

New Moon & Solstice Blessings

Last weekend, several goddesses gathered for a “New Moon in June Goddess Ceremony: A Celebration of Luminous Women Sisterhood.” Oh my gosh, that was a super-fun and profound experience! We found a suggested new moon ceremony format from Mystic Mamma to use as a starting point, and then co-created a sacred space together and the perfect sharing and ritual for where we all were in our spirit-journeys.

One thing we used from Mystic Mamma is a bath salts ritual. We each brought essential oils, herbs and/or flowers, then poured a large bag of bath salts into a bowl. We each took turns stating our intentions, adding a drop of oil as an offering into the salt for each intention. Then we mixed the salts all together with our hands, and divided up the scented salts for a home-coming package, with the intention of having a full-moon bath in the salts in two weeks. In the bath, we can each reflect on where we are in reaching our intentions and what else might need to shift in order for us to reach the potential of our higher-selves.

What I notice is that in sharing intentions in ritual or ceremony, especially with witness(es), spiritual energies gather to meet and support us in profound ways. Then it’s for us to accept the way that Spirit supports us – letting some things fall away and other things gather, empower, and support us. Manifestation is faster than ever, especially when we align with our higher selves and our divinity. Having follow-up support from family, friends, beloved, soul-sisters and –brothers, and/or from spiritual professionals is also profoundly helpful. Continue reading →

Matt Kahn: First Wave of Ascension

My spirit guides, Socha (and other guides too), talk about ascension, an awakening in consciousness that helps us to issue in a new world or new earth.  I actually found it useful to go back and to hear Socha’s words about the portals that present themselves, when we are willing and prepared to walk through them, and that serve our ascension and evolution, as individuals and as a collective. I am feeling portal energies within and here at OdaBe, our sacred Reiki sharing site that we also call home. After the Sacred Reiki Healing Retreat weekend,  the portals and transformational energies amplified like even I cannot believe. The transitions feel uncommonly powerful, but gentle too, and for that I feel most blessed.

In the video below, Matt Kahn (whom I have highlighted before in my blog)  of True Divine Nature also shares what it means to be a part of the wave of ascension and the four-stage initiation process that we are experiencing now. I enjoy sharing resources like these because of the value I find in expanding my consciousness with concepts that serve my personal growth path. I enjoy Kahn’s insights and energy too.

Kahn proposes that by September 27, 2015, all members of the first wave (one-third of the earth’s population) will have completed their initiation and will be living embodied expressions of the fifth-dimensional consciousness. Kahn tells us that fifth-dimensional earth is here now, and we are shedding the limiting beliefs and patterns that keep us stuck in 3D so we can see and feel our way into our evolution. As members of the first wave, we illuminate the way for the others to ascend too.

Dreamtime: It’s Not Just for Resting Anymore

Have you been feeling in the intensity of the moon energies, the planets and stars? Have your dreams and sleep-time felt particularly powerful?

All the astrological and energy forecasts talk of intensity, month after month. We may feel weary of it, but this is the time for spiritual stamina. Using dreamtime to draw down messages that serve our spirits is one powerful tool available to us. Before drifting into sleep, we may set intentions for fun adventures, healing energies, insights, inspiration or problem-solving ideas. Perhaps we may dive even deeper, into lucid dreaming where we consciously dream, or into astral travel where we may learn new things, visit other realities, or effect change in remarkable ways, the way of the shaman who knows no bounds of time and space.

This is a time for brilliant solutions, as we have no more need to dally in the many challenges-of-the-day. Enough already! It’s time to awaken to our ancient wisdom, the better parts of the old ways that taught us to honor the Earth as a living BEing (which she most certainly is), and to honor ourselves and one another as we dance in Divine Oneness.

Are you ready for an evolutionary leap?

The Universe desires to support you now. If these are new realms of discovery for you, it can be helpful to embrace this path with childlike innocence and joy, without expectations, while trusting Spirit to bring what we need to succeed.

I have chosen the path-of-my-heart, rather than that play-it-safe one. I know unspeakable joy so very much of the time. This is also true: life it truly a complex mixture of many experiences and feelings. In a post a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned “spiritual stamina.” I felt called to explore this more deeply, and then I received yet another lesson in spiritual stamina. How intriguing, Universe, and thank you for the lesson! This is a bit of a tender share, as it’s been a mighty-tender week, full of the wildest emotions, perhaps more so than I’ve ever known. If you’ve ever imagined that I (or anyone) have it all together, then this will dial you in to a deeper truth. I offer this, not as a spiritually narcissistic diatribe, but as a portal for deeper healing, not just for me, but for anyone who can or will identify a bit with this story. You are not alone. Five Incredible Years of Sage Spirit: Celebrating Community and Prosperity

Five years ago Sunday, June 1, I posted the very first Sage Spirit blog post announcing the birth of this beloved endeavor of my soul and spirit, Sage Spirit Coaching & Reiki. I have been blessed beyond measure by the support of family, friends, clients, students, teachers and coaches through the years. My spiritual growth has been exponential, and I have been witness to the phenomenal growth of many others. I am in awe and InJoy as I ponder this remarkable path.

Community is a huge theme for me, as I’ve shared before. I regard you all as part of a spiritual community as we create an energetic hub for support, blessings, encouragement, love and wisdom in the broader world. Thank you, All, for sharing all of that with me and for shining your own light. You are such amazing Beloveds to me, now and always. Without you, I wouldn’t have the amazing sense of community that I have. I wouldn’t have the sense of love and faith that I do on behalf of humanity. I wouldn’t have the joy of knowing you, which would be a huge sacrifice.

What has been coming up for me around community is a sense of evolution in that too. Often, relationships seem to be karmic in nature, where we travel with our soul families and show up for one another in supportive or problematic ways. Continue reading →
